Hello Spring!  Since I'm craving an afternoon at the park I thought I'd share this lovely image of little girls playing on a swing set. Isn't that where we'd all like to be?

Victorian Schoolgirl at Desk

This cute little schoolgirl at her desk was originally published in a Victorian book of Children's rhymes and fairy tales.  I've cleaned it up a bit and am posting here both a jpg of the art in context on its slightly yellowed paper and a nice digital stamp .png file in which the original brown ink and printing irregularities have been preserved.

Original Scan

I found this image in a badly worn book of children's stories.  The paper was yellowed and brittle with lots of stains (looks like coffee, but who lets their kids drink coffee?).  This particular image of a little girl and her dog was too cute to let go, so I have painstakingly cleaned it and added color to the plate.  I've included both the original scan and the cleaned and colorized final image.

Victorian Woman with Vibrating Contraption

This peculiar device is the "New Life Vibrator" and this image from the "Health and How to Get It" suggests one of many possible uses.  This beautiful young woman is treating her dandruff by massaging her scalp.  The book also suggests that one might use the vibrator to reduce headaches, but somehow it seems more likely to cause them!

I recently came upon a trove of these fellows, dignified Victorian gentlemen with lovely mustaches. They all have pronounced newspaper printers dots which I think add to their charm.

This odd little image comes from the pages of a 1908 guide to home health care. There is some creepy stuff in this book!

This pretty image comes from a Victorian Scrapbook from France.  One of the cuter pictures of cats I've seen.  This image has been carefully digitally "clipped" to remove the background and made available at a rather large resolution.

I love this little bird with his three speckled eggs. This cutie comes from one of my collection of Victorian Scrapbooks. I'm offering him here as a .png file with a transparent background at rather large dimensions. He'd make a great decoration for a new home or new baby themed project.

Starting out on Art Fire

We're moving on up! Just last week I opened a new shop for my digital collage sheets on Art Fire. They've been available on Etsy for a while, as well as on my own stand-alone site PassionFruitsImages.com, but I've been hearing fantastic things about Art Fire and thought I'd give it a go. Why not, right?

So far so good. Importing my listings was a breeze, and the new shop is already appearing in google search. I really love that Art Fire gives you the ability to really work with your meta tags and customize your listing for the search engines. Now if only I can find the time to make those changes!

I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this new community!
